Creating grok patterns

1. Click + Add drop-down list and select Grok pattern. Enter the details in the Create grok pattern window.

   

Field	Action
Grok pattern name	Enter a name for the grok pattern.
Service	Select a service for the grok pattern from the drop-down list. The service name text color if Green, indicates that it is grouped and if the color is Amber it indicates that the service is not grouped.
Log name	Select the log name from the drop-down list.
Grok pattern	Enter a grok pattern in the box. For more information about writing grok patterns, see Writing grok patterns.

2. Click Create.

Adding a grok pattern will update an existing grok pattern.
